In 2014, three trees in our backyard were cut down. We had the wood milled, and after a year of drying I began using what I had learned from my father and a little bit of creativity to build unique pieces of furniture. Simple at first, now they incorporate disassembling parts, moving pieces, and built-in lighting. These projects show I understand how materials come together into a finished product, not just what that finished product looks like.
All of the furniture began from rough, warped pieces of air dried wood. The wood was cut, planed, and shaped into proper boards before anything could be built. A special thanks to my father, who used his talent for carpentry to help me with some of the most difficult wood cuts on these projects.
